It does take a lifetime though to figure out our weaknesses and compensate. This is hard to teach to an 11 year old without making him feel dumb.

Goslyn,
I'm a total believer in the "pregnancy saps braincells" theory. Before I had a child, I was ever so organized. I set goals and accomplished them; I never missed a deadline. Nothing ever snuck up on me (it's Tuesday already? As in Tuesday when the credit card bill is due?!?)

I don't know why pregnancy and parenting have dissolved my brain into tapioca pudding, but some days I really wish for my old self back.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34687963.post-1164207400972179242006-11-22T07:56:00.000-07:002006-11-22T07:56:00.000-07:00Ugh, I can relate to this. Now that I'm in graduate school, I have become hyper-organized and it has actually helped some. That along with tons of notes to myself. I also force people to email me if they need something because I will certainly forget it otherwise! ;)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34687963.post-1164196809079963382006-11-22T05:00:00.000-07:002006-11-22T05:00:00.000-07:00MenoOh dear. I'll be in a nursing home by then. Hopefully my kids will remember to come visit me.

Lara
I never pictured you as forgetful. Obviously your coping skills are very effective since you've got the whole organizing thing going. If only you could come organize my brain for me. Do you think it would fit in one of those great bags you sell?Julie Q.https://www.blogger.com/profile/13737557893649934725noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34687963.post-1164177482949542022006-11-21T23:38:00.000-07:002006-11-21T23:38:00.000-07:00See, I told you we had a lot in common.
