and then there was one

It started with Nora. One minute she was fine and the next she was vomiting all over the floor of the boys’ room—a floor which unfortunately happened to be covered at the time with 8 million Lego pieces. I’ll spare you the details of that cleanup.

Nora spent the next 24 hours proving the old adage that ‘what goes down must come up or at least out the other end.’ Much laundry was involved.

By Wednesday, I had caught the bug. I tried to call in sick to my job but my bosses (ages 1-12) said my benefits package did not include sick leave. Go figure.

Wednesday night and early into the wee hours of Thursday morning, Ethan and Gabie took turns racing for the bathroom…and not quite making it. Nora continued her pattern of filling her diaper (and pajamas and socks) with radioactive liquid waste every two hours.

And Thursday afternoon, McKay called home from school to say he was feeling lousy and needed to come home early.

Only my husband Ken is still standing, untouched by the plague that has spread all around him. Wish him luck.

We went through that two weeks ago. My husband came home with what he thought was food poisening, but the next day when three more of us were upchucking we knew that it wasn't food poisening.

So sorry for you!

I know I shouldn't laugh at something so unpleasant, but I can't quite shake the mental image of the Legos.

Hang in there.

I'm so sorry that's going through your family right now. How miserable. Well, if everyone is feeling better, please come to our Blogger Babe Lunch today at Golden Corral in Orem at 1:00 p.m.

Feel better!

Yuck Yuck Yuck! So sorry to hear that everyone is feeling so lousy.

My youngest was barfey-sick last weekend but fortunately there were no Legos involved.

Hope it gets better soon!

I think I started dry heaving by the time the vomit landed on the Legos.

So sorry the Black Plague has taken up residence in your family. May the Ginger Ale be with you, and may you heal quickly.

(And Ken? Good luck!)

I definitely feel your pain as we are in the seem predicament in our house. Cory's stomach flu lasted for four solid days!?!

Hope you all survive. "Bring out your dead!"

Oh dear. Ken, I wish you luck.

We did that for New Year's and my daughter got so used to having a plastic bowl in her room, just in case, she was upset when the danger was passed and we took it away.

The question is, did the lego protect the carpet at all?

Oh, dear: vomit-soaked Legos. And I thought the mess I experienced today was bad.

We have an important rule in our family: "Vomit in place." Easier clean-up that way.
